Miranda - Founder & Designer of Girl Got Curves
#1 Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Miranda. I am 25 and live in a small town in the South East of England. I spend most of my free time visiting friends, coffee shops and new places with my little sausage dog, Nola. I love anything to do with bikinis, which usually means holidays too!
#2 How did you come up with the idea to found Girl Got Curves?
I came up with the idea for Girl Got Curves, through frustration from within the fashion industry that there was an assumption that plus size women didn’t want to wear fashionable bikinis. I was tired of sizing and style being an afterthought. I wanted to provide women with not only an amazing bikini but a place they would not only be represented but also celebrated.
#4 What do you love most about wearing bikinis?
The feeling of freedom, I always feel my best in a bikini I don’t know if that’s because I always associate it with holidays and memories of good times but for me wearing a bikini is the best way to celebrate your body and combat the society ideals of the perfect ‘beach body’.
#3 You are such a beach babe! Do you have a favourite bikini?
That is hard…but it would have to be the Lauren Set, for me that red is so gorgeous and suits all skin tones. I love being able to tie the straps in different ways and match a white beach cover up with to make the red pop.
#5 What is your favourite self-love tip?
Do not compare yourself to anyone, in any part of your life, but especially your body. The way I found true self love was by accepting my body for how it was and not looking at other peoples to see how they were different and then wanting their body. We’re all meant to be different otherwise we’d all look the same.
